Produced by GSL Group, our music festival Rock Ambleside Park announced today that we will be donating a portion of tickets proceeds from this year’s festival, which features Randy Bachman, Platinum Blonde, April Wine, Honeymoon Suite, Glass Tiger, The Stampeders, Harlequin, Headpins, Nick Gilder & Sweeney Todd, Helix and Prism, to the Salvation Army’s BC Wildfire relief efforts. Rock Ambleside Park will take place on August 18-20 at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, BC.
Due to the devastating wildfires, that continue to cause distress and heartbreak throughout the province, 19,000 British Columbians have been forced from their homes by evacuation orders. British Columbia is in a state of emergency, its first since 2003, where 49,000 residences have been left with no other option but to register for assistance as the wildfires continue to rage on across the province. Rock Ambleside Park’s thoughts go out to all those affected by this life altering disaster and to the thousands of firefighters and support staff who continue to put themselves in harm’s way.
“Through our experience with the Okanagan Mountain Park fire in 2003, we have great empathy for those who have been affected and displaced by the current BC wildfires,” President of GSL Sports & Entertainment Dave Dakers said. “Rock Ambleside Park is a great opportunity for us to be able to give back to the impacted communities of British Columbia during their time of need.”
For all single-day and three-day tickets purchased for this event between now and August 15th, Rock Ambleside Park will donate $5 and $15 respectively to the Salvation Army’s BC Wildfire relief efforts. Tickets can be purchased via www.rockamblesidepark.com
Fans that are buying tickets online will have the opportunity for Rock Ambleside Park to double the donation. Please visit bit.ly/2v525T7 for more information.
The Salvation Army has deployed Emergency and Disaster Services on the front lines of the wildfires. The teams provide food, water, shelter, and support for support first responders, evacuees, and others who have been impacted. They have also served over 10,000 meals and provided blankets, clothing, and personal items to assist those in need. Emergency Response Vehicles and Teams are situated across the province and are equipped to respond quickly when needed.
Rock Ambleside Park has partnered with Vancouver’s Rock 101 and Ambleside Live to bring you this one-of-a-kind event. Ambleside Park is one of the most picturesque settings and Ambleside Live has hosted concerts by Kenny Chesney, Ed Sheeran, Tegan & Sara and Lilith Fair. The festival grounds will have food trucks, drinks, and VIP access. Patrons are permitted to bring in their own lawn chairs for the event and come and go to the beach.
