International Children’s Games

The 5th International Children's Winter Games were held in Kelowna, B.C. in 2011. It was the first time the event was hosted by a city anywhere outside of Europe. The goal of the games is to enable, develop and advance the meeting, understanding and friendship of students from all around the world and to promote the Olympic ideal.

The Capital News Centre donated $3,500 worth of ice time at their facility in order to support the games. The event was a tremendous success with over 500 athletes from 37 different cities attending.
